A dental emergency requires immediate treatment. This can range from sudden or severe pain to a knocked-out tooth. As long as it is only affecting your oral area, including your tongue, cheeks, teeth, gums, and lips, it is best to contact our office. However, if you suspect someone has suffered a broken jaw or if they have been bleeding for more than 10 minutes, dial 9-1-1 or head straight to the nearest emergency room.
In the event of a knocked out tooth, remain calm. If you should need to, dial 9-1-1 or head to the nearest emergency room. However, most dental emergencies can be handled in the dental office. In the event you have a knocked out tooth, you should place the tooth in a glass of milk or in saline water. If not available, place the tooth under your tongue and be sure NOT to swallow it. Call our office ASAP, 239-280-0304.
